Abstract: Depression is a common public health issue with the increasing life expectancy worldwide and it is associated with morbidity as well as disability among the elderly. It has been shown a considerable increase in the numbers of older people in the world population both developed and developing countries. These populations are thought to be more prone to suffer from depression. A descriptive cross sectional study was conducted to assess depression and functional status among elderly people residing in different old age homes (Samaj Kalyan Kendra Briddhashram, Rotary Karunalaya..........
