Abstract: This study area delves into the geological saga of the Brahmaputra River in Dibrugarh District, Assam, exploring its profound impact on regional evolution amidst extensive layers of contemporary alluvial sediments, including Older Alluvium, High-Level Terraces, and New Alluvium, visible in natural cut bank formations along the river's course. Abstract: Geological time scale is an attempt to put the past geological events in an order. The present article aims at achieving this order with the correlation of this interdependent events in the past. Subjective explanation of the correlations of interdependent and interrelated events may become lengthy and quite descriptive. All these events on the Earth are put forward in a framework of structural outline, in correspondence to the geological age and age in million years to portray a clear picture of this complex phenomena.

Abstract: Clay minerals possess distinctive physiochemical attributes, notably their water absorption capacities and propensity to signify soil swelling behavior. Identifying and quantifying these components are essential for engineering endeavors. Infrared spectroscopy, specifically in the short-wave infrared (SWIR) domain, has proven to be a productive and widespread instrument for analyzing clay minerals due to its diagnostically informative SWIR spectral details. Water molecules (H₂O) and hydroxyl groups (OH) generate diagnostic absorptions in clay minerals within the SWIR wavelength region. This study focuses on the petrological, mineralogical, spectral, and economic characteristics of clay deposits in the Mui Basin in Kenya.......

Abstract: Depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs are often referred to as one of the most preferred options for geological carbon sequestration (GCS). The Nigeria Niger Delta can become the next carbon storage hub if some reservoirs of the region which are already entering depletion are put to use. In practice, however, preliminary re-assessment of these reservoirs must be carried out to ascertain their suitability to store CO2.
