During the period of admission, the ocular signs and symptoms were noted. Results-Out of the 40 included patients who tested positive by RT-PCR for SARS-CoV-2 on nasopharyngeal swabs,27 showed respiratory symptoms and out of them only 9 had ocular symptoms consistent with conjunctivitis, including conjunctival hyperemia, chemosis, increased secretion or epiphora. Abstract: It is reported that 80% of patients over 50 years may exhibit cracked teeth. The incidence and prevalence of cracked teeth were commonly associated with intracoronal restorations; most prevalent in mandibular molars. The wedging effect of the prominent mesiopalatal cusps of the maxillary first molars may account for this fracture..

Abstract: Introduction-Situs inversustotalis is a rare anomaly and acute abdominal conditions in these patients poses a challenge in diagnosis as well as treatment. Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is the gold standard procedure for symptomatic cholelithiasis for years .Laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure is refined over years to increase its efficacy, decrease complication rates and increase cosmoses . Single incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy with conventional instruments is a better suited treatment modality for symptomatic cholelithiasis with situs inversustotalis, as it is easy to do due to mirror imaging , better cosmesis , less operative time and less post operative pain.SILC has some documented advantages in comparison to four port LC.. Methods-Patients of symptomaticcholelithiasis with situs inversustotalis were enrolled in the study . 3 patients underwent single incision laparoscopic....

Abstract: Background:Although huge progress has been made towards thedesigning of effective therapeutic strategies against Prostate Cancer (PCa), its treatment remains a major cause for concern, as recurrence after treatment is very common, coupled with adverse effects anda limited survival window associated with many cases. Therefore, alternative cost-effective ways of managing prostatic diseases are needed. This study evaluated the effect of a pH modulator (pHmo) on serum levels of prostate specific antigen (PSA) and some pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in patients with PCa.....

Abstract: Background: Early childhood caries is a significant public health problem. The best way of motivating preschoolers towards good oral health is through their parents as their preventive practices tends to be controlled by their parent's actions and attitudes. This study assesses the knowledge and practices regarding early childhood caries among parents of 3 to 5 years old preschool children and to correlate the relationship with dental caries experience among preschool children. Methods: A random sample of 371 children aged 3 to 5 years were selected from 9 preschools and every even roll numbered child was selected by systematic random sampling. Modified WHO oral health assessment form and pilot tested questionnaire was used to assess the dentition status and aspects pertaining to oral hygiene, dental caries, sugar consumption, visit.....

Abstract:CONTEXT In the human body, the proper fluid balance should be maintained, not only as a whole but between the three compartments of intracellular, interstitial and intravascular spaces. It is maintained by hemodynamic, electrolyte and other forces. Not only proteins, fats and carbohydrates, but also minerals are essential to life. Now the significance of traces not only of vitamins and other active organic substances, but also of minerals is under intensive investigation. Magnesium has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Acute Myocardial Infarction and its complications like arrhythmias. It plays a significant role in other cardiovascular diseases also. Magnesium ions are considered essential for the maintenance of the functional......

Abstract: Objectives: This study analyzed the incidence of surgical site infections in gastrointestinal surgeries . Method: The present study was conducted at General Surgery Department SMIMER, Surat. A observational study of 400 cases that have undergone abdominal surgery in SMIMER hospital and were followed up from the day of operation to 30 days after discharge. Results: Incidence of abdominal SSI: The overall infection rate for a total of the 400 cases was 17.25%. The incidence rate in this study is well within the infection rates of 2.8% to 17% seen in other studies. Different studies from India at different places have shown the SSI rate to vary from 6.09% to 38.7% .Conclusion: Our study reveals that though SSIs have been widely studied since a long time, they still remain as one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality in surgically treated patients.

Abstract: Early morning stiffness a common complaint mainly attributed to Rheumatoid arthritis from autoimmune diseases may also seen in degenerative conditions of spine .We had earlier studied 20 patients (7 males and 13 females) between 24 years to 65 years (mean age =39.9 years.) with low back ache with back stiffness using plain radiographs to assess their instability. We excluded spondyloarthropathy and HLA B27 positive patients or with multiple other joint involvement from the study. This is the study on using computerized tomogram as a tool to assess morning stiffness in backache in the same group of patients. CT scan of the lumbosacral spine was performed from L1-S1 with 5mmm thick sections at 3mm intervals to analyse the cause for instability. 3D reconstruction, sagittal and coronal.....
