Abstract: The study was planned to investigate the relationship between suicide ideation and life satisfaction among adolescents. Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSS: Beck, Steer & Ranieri 1988) and Multidimensional Students' Life Satisfaction Scale (MSLSS: Huebner, 1994) was applied on a sample of 489 adolescents (Boys: N=239 & Girls: N=250) drawn from the schools of Amritsar city affiliated with CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The results of the study revealed that girls as compared to boys have scored higher on Suicide Ideation whereas boys have scored higher than girls on different components of life satisfaction such as family, friends and living environment. The study also explored a negative relationship between Suicide Ideation and different dimensions such as family, friends, self, living environment as well as overall life satisfaction in both the genders.

Abstract: The hand is the most preferable and resourceful part of the body for anthropometric measurement of hand length, breadth and indices. Hand index which is derived from hand dimensions can be used to estimate differences related to sex, age and race in forensic and legal sciences. The aim of the present study is to provide a statistical data of hand index in males and females. The hand breadth and hand length of 400 students (200 males and 200 females) between the ages of 18-25 years of SEGi University, Malaysia were measured using a vernier caliper. The hand index was calculated as the percentage of hand breadth over the hand length. The statistical data has been achieved by SPSS. The mean of right hand length (18.6471) and left hand length (18.6160) of male hand is higher than right hand length (16.9244) and left hand length (16.9411) of female. The right hand breadth of male (8.1630) and left hand breadth (8.0509) is much broader than the right hand breadth (7.2555) and left hand breadth (7.1052) of female.

Title | : | Difficult Mothers in Difficult Daughters by Manju Kapur |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Aachal Mundafale |
Abstract: The issue of poor mother-daughter relationship is rarely discussed openly in mainstream culture. When we utter or think of the word "Mother" the thoughts and feelings that rise in our hearts and minds are of love, affection, care, understanding, selfless devotion and all that is soft and sweet and noble in human nature. Much has been written on this holy relation and much has been exposed. If we have traditional literature eulogizing this relationship, we also have literature that exposes the ground reality. There are feminists who believe that this relationship is also based on selfish motives and is shaped by the circumstances that dominate. Difficult Daughters by Manju Kapur is a novel which shows mother -daughter relationship in a new light. The present paper is an attempt to show that how daughters lose their way when they get no motherly support and so become "difficult‟.

Title | : | Controversial Issues of Section-57 of the ICT Act, 2006: A Critical Analysis and Evaluation |
Country | : | Bangladesh |
Authors | : | Mohammad Badruzzaman |
Abstract: One of the intrinsic instincts of human being is the desire of being free which sense makes them distinct from other animals. The State is on legal obligation to maintain, protect and promote them according to law. 'Freedom of Thought and Expression' and 'Right to Privacy' both are guaranteed by the Constitution of Bangladesh. As an emerging democratic country it bears more importance for the progress of democratic process and culture. Section-57 of the ICT Act, 2006 deals with Punishment for publishing fake, obscene or defaming information in electronic form, in appearance mostly contradictory with 'freedom of thought and expression' whereas under this section' right to privacy' is highly focused bearing huge ambiguity therewith. In the era of information and technology right to privacy how much should be protected and possible to protect and maintenance is rational in real life, there should have minimum parameter and guidelines in law. Considering the reality removing ambiguity of the section for minimizing the suffering of mass people in enforcement of it is the demand of time. This article is on the ways to come out from these dilemmas.

Title | : | Ngugi wa Thiong'o's notion of Historical Change in Petals of Blood |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Somdev Banik |
Abstract: In Petals of Blood, Ngugi's fourth novel, he deals with the issues plaguing post-colonial Kenya. He narrates how the fruits of Independence have been monopolized by the neo-colonial elites, in collusion with the capitalist interests. He critiques the colonial historical narrative and justifies the urgency of rewriting national history. For him no revolution is ultimate in guaranteeing an exploitation free society. It is only through a ceaseless struggle that the Post-colonial Kenyans can resist neo-colonial domination and true freedom. Petals of Blood bears a testimony to his notion of history in Post-colonial Kenya.

Title | : | Between The Lines: Scientific Expeditions in Colonial and Imperial Brazil, and Science History – The Expeditions Undertaken To Espírito Santo |
Country | : | Brazil |
Authors | : | Carlos Roberto Pires Campos || Marcelo Scabelo da Silva |
Abstract: An aspect little studied by the historiography regards to the role that the scientific expeditions played to the Science History. These expeditions gave a glance of the Brazilian way of living and specially of the captaincy of Espírito Santo to Europe and helped to build the Brazilian social representations by Europeans, while they set up a notion about the imaginary and how people worked to tame the land and turn it as their needs. Upcoming the science at a contextualized point of view, the purpose of this paper is to present a panel of scientific expeditions undertaken to the Espírito Santo Capitaincy from the sixteenth century to the late nineteenth century, by imperial times, and, in this approach, to highlight the ideological reasons of the mechanisms that led to the occurrence of such expeditions. After the analyses of the travel reports and narratives produced, we realized that the Brazilian Science History was based on the European point of view which influenced the constitution of its cultural diversity. Maybe many of the prejudice against Brazil that has still existed until today originated from these expeditions.
