Title | : | Political Thuggery And The Crisis Of Confidence Among Youths In Nigeria |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | May Omogho Esiri (Ph.D.) |
Abstract: The political culture of thuggery with increasing massive youth involvement in Nigeria in the present democratic dispensation seems to have come to stay. The situation is worrisome and alarming especially as it indicates that the state is turning out anti-social and criminally oriented youths instead of credible youths with integrity. This has serious implications for Nigeria's development and democracy. In recent times, majority of Nigeria's politicians, some of whom occupy/play the role of political godfathers do not participate in politics with the desire to improve the living conditions of the Nigerian people. Rather they enter into politics with the desire to make themselves known or popular.

Title | : | Relevance of Section 309 Indian Penal Code (IPC) : A Perspective |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | MannatMarwaha |
Abstract: Suicide‟ (felo de se) which means deliberate termination of one‟s own physical existence or self-murder, is distinctly a human act. Suicide knows no barriers of race, religion, caste or sex as it appears in all societies from earliest times. Throughout history, suicide has been condemned by various societies. Since the Middle-Ages, society has used first the canonic and later the criminal law to combat suicide. In India, suicide per se is not a crime but attempted suicide under Section 309, Indian Penal Code and abetment of suicide under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code are.

Title | : | Autobiography as History: A Study of Bill Bryson's the Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Tejaswani K. |
Abstract: Rarely do we come across a novel which enthrals us with mundane details of life, from the kind of food that people ate at that time and the TV shows that they watched to the American atomic competition with Russia, more than half a century ago. Bill Bryson manages to do so in this travel narrative. In the present novel, The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, Bryson deals with his life and the 1950s simultaneously. The novel is funny, informative, educative and entertaining at the same time. The narration of one's childhood can rarely be complete without the description of the background setting, which is usually the country and times in which the person lived in..

Title | : | The Club of Queer Trades: Detective or Defective Stories? |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | J. Saiqua Parveen || T. Naresh Naidu || J. Sajida Parveen |
Abstract: It is generally believed by most readers of detective fiction that all fictional detectives are based on Poe's creation, Dupin. But we have discovered that Chesterton is not indebted either to Dupin or to Holmes in his portrayal of Father Brown. Brown as a matter of fact, is modeled after Basil and Rupert Grant, Chesterton's own earlier character in his collection of six crime stories 'The Club of Queer Trades'. Even though this collection presents Chesterton at the heights of storytelling, it does not project him as a writer of detective fiction. These narratives are somewhat 'defective' when read as 'detective'. In this research paper, we have highlighted the shortcomings of these stories which lack the systematic pattern of logical detection expected from detective genre.

Title | : | Analysis of the Influence of Opinion Leaders on Voting Decision of Rural Voters: An Evidence from Ayetoro, Ogun- State of Nigeria. |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Amos Kolawole |
Abstract: Rural dwellers are believed to constitute the majority of mankind. It is also widely held that no credible election can take place without the informed participation of the rural voters. Unfortunately, most of the rural voters are not well-educated and, therefore, rely on information received from opinion leaders. The study examined the influence of opinion leaders on the voting decisions of the rural voters with a view to determining the nature of the influence, whether positive or negative. It was discovered that a number of the opinion leaders played very negative roles during the last election, thereby eroding the credibility of elections in the community that was studied. The study therefore, recommended that government and the civil societies need to put in place an efficient information delivery mechanism to reduce the over- bearing influence of opinion leaders in the rural communities.

Title | : | Towards The Achievement of National Identity: The Role of British Jewry in the Creation of the State of Israel |
Country | : | Tunisia |
Authors | : | Yosra Amraoui |
Abstract: "Some ethnies1 were transformed into nations in the modern era, while others, often due to their territorial dispersion, lack of political ambition or low level of self consciousness did not emerge as nations" (Kaufmann 2-3). This statement by Eric P. Kaufmann, editor of Rethinking Ethnicity: Majority Groups and Dominant Minorities (2004), demonstrates the ability of ethnic minorities to institute change and master their own destiny rather than simply accept the situation proposed by assimilationist strategies. Within the frame of political Zionism, British and American Jews were able to exercise large-scale pressure on the governments of the countries in which they lived in the hope of getting international assistance in obtaining a national home in Palestine.

Title | : | Relative Advantage as a Determinant of Technology Adoption among Automobile Mechanics in Micro and Small Enterprises in Kenya |
Country | : | Kenya |
Authors | : | Kennedy Ojucku Mairura || Kepha Momanyi Osoro |
Abstract: Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) are facing tremendous challenges and threats to survive in a competitive environment. As a matter of fact, MSEs are faced with the threat of failure with past statistics indicating that three out five fail within the first few months. In spite of this fact, automobile mechanics in this informal sector have been slow in adopting modern technology despite the advantages that are attributed to new innovations. This study aimed to determine factors that influence technology adoption among automobile mechanics in micro and small enterprises in Nakuru town; Kenya. The one of the specific objective of the study was to establish the role of relative advantage, in the adoption of technology. The research used a descriptive cross sectional survey design and employed both probability and non-probability sampling techniques to collect quantitative and qualitative data.
