Abstract: The phenomenon of sit-tight syndrome and tenure elongation in African politics has been traced to the history of leadership in Africa right from the era of independence till date. The post-independence politics of African countries has been dominated by the phenomenon of sit-tight African Heads of state and government who had acceded to office by election or coup d‟état. This paper examines this recurring problem in post-independence African politics by examining its general and specific causation, features and consequences; among the factors of: power intoxication, illiteracy, corruption, fear of arrest by the ICC, weak public opinions and others. Building upon extant relevant literature, it presents "fresh empirical reflections rather than major new theoretical constructs" on the sit-tight syndrome and tenure elongation as two strands of the subversion of the constitution and the political process. The paper concludes with suggestions for transcending this major challenge to the political and socio-economic development of Africa.
Keywords: Sit-tight Syndrome, Tenure Elongation, Regional Development, Security, Politics and Power Intoxication.

Abstract: One Major Challenge Bedevilling The Nigeria-Niger Borderlands Has Been The Aspect Of Cattle Rustling And Armed Banditry Whose Paucity Of Records On Its Gravity On The Affected Victims Has Left Much To Be Desired Over Time And Space. Most Of The Analysis Provided By Security On These Perennial Phenomena Has So Far Glanced At It As A National Rather Than International Crime Activity. However, Evidence Extant Seemed To Indicate An International Crime Linkage Factor Also, Especially When The Prevalent Relationship Between Some Parts Of Nigeria And Tahoua Region In Niger Republic Has Been Considered. The Likelihood Of These Perpetrated Acts.........

Abstract: The study aims to estimate the impact of fiscal policy on public debt for the period 2002 to 2013 in India. The study adopts a multiple linear regression model to analyse the impact of the independent variables, represented by government spending and tax revenue on the dependent variable represented by public debt for the above mentioned period. The model is subject to a test of hypotheses and the results are computed and analysed. The model suggests that increasing tax revenue and government expenditure will reduce the debt to GDP ratio as both parameters happen to be are inversely related with public debt. It also suggests the importance of expenditure being channelized effectively and productively, with the support of relevant economic literature to prove the theoretical validity of the model.
