Abstract: The Self-help Groups have played a pivotal role in eradicating poverty and bringing people above the poverty line by increasing income level and consumption capacity. Increased levels of income of SHG households are expected to raise their expenditure on various items. The existing literature review confirmed that most SHGs experienced improvement in income and savings, leading to an increase in expenditure on food and non-food items. Hereafter, the present study aimed to evaluate the impact of Self Help Groups on household consumption expenditure in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, India.
