Abstract: Urban growth on the peripheries of Indian cities is one of the important spatial processes affecting cities in contemporary urban India. The paper gives a comparative spatial analysis of growing cities, namely Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Lucknow in terms of land-use/land-cover transformation. The results utilizing an internally consistent modelled geospatial dataset geared to Dynamic World, Landsat, ESA WorldCover, GHSL, Census of India and OpenStreetMap variables show a clear increase in built-up land in all selected city....
