Abstract: Background: Cognitive reserve (CR) is a neuroprotective factor that allows persons to mitigate the impact of negative conditions such as dementias. Neurophysiological techniques such as electroencephalography facilitate the observation of the functional dynamics of cognitive processes. Recently, research models have been designed to study cognitive reserve using neurophysiological and neuroimaging methods to provide information about the physiological dynamics of cognitive reserve.
