Abstract: Aims and objectives: Needle Stick Injuries (NSI) is one of the common occupational hazard for nurses and can occur because of variety of causes. This study was aimed at finding out the prevalence of NSI and to explore the factors related to NSI incidences. Methods and materials: This quantitative descriptive study was conducted among 150 nurses working two tertiary care hospitals in Haryana. Convenient sampling technique was used to selected nurses for the study. A self-developed socio-demographic profile and a questionnaire to assess needle stick injuries and related factors was administered to each of the study participants.

Abstract: The death risk of both mother and infant is increasing due to the delay treatment during the pregnancy and childbirth process. One of the factors to contribute in the raise of this risk is the childbirth by traditional birth attendant. Many health programs have been set by the government in order to deal with this matter. However, there are still many people who employ the service of the traditional birth attendant. This research employs survey method by using cross-sectional approach conducted in Jember Regency. This research involves 200 mothers who childbirth during the period of 2013-2014 as the sample. This research employs simple random sampling as the sampling method. Data was taken using questionnaire extended to mothers who met the research criteria.

Abstract: Women with HIV/AIDS have a quite hard burden, discrimination, and the low economical status that causes them of getting down in uncertainty of life. Handling the HIV/AIDS sufferers as a result of their poverty and health status is not done yet comprehensively and significantly. Therefore, it requires certain action to solve the problem. One of the actions that can possibly be applied is an empowerment of women with HIV/AIDS through 'Life Skill Education'. This strategy has a superiority since it is able to improve the sufferers' welfare either from the economical status or the health status by utilizing some potentials they have.The objective of this research was to make an empowerment model of women with HIV/AIDS by using both quantitative and qualitative approach.

Abstract: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the important indicators for assessing the health of society rate in a country. MMR is considerably high in Indonesia compared with other ASEAN countries. One of the MMR factors is that the mothers' perception about self care during the postpartum period does not go optimally yet. To solve the problem, it requires one of the ways by giving postnatal education which focuses on the postpartum mothers by including their families as social support. This research was conducted in dr. Soebandi Hospital, Jember, and the area of Kaliwates Health Center, Jember on March 16 to June 30, 2015. Pre-experiment method was used for the research design to analyze the influences of postnatal education toward the perception about self care on immediately and early postpartum period to the postpartum mothers and their families.

Abstract: sickle cell means an abnormal crescent shaped red blood cell. The present study aimed to evaluate an educational program for the mothers and their children including the knowledge and practices needed in dealing with the sickle cell disease and assessment of pain severity before and after the educational program. Abstract: Consanguineous marriage is account for 20% to 50% of the general population. While assessing the consequence of consanguineous and non consanguineous, consanguinity leads to many problems to newborn and infant health. A non experimental comparative research design was used to evaluate the knowledge and effects of fetal outcome on consanguineous and non consanguineous married women. Among 120 samples, there is no much difference in knowledge aspects for both groups. Regarding the effects of fetal outcome, 25% of women had severe effects in consanguineous group and13% in non consanguineous group.

Abstract: Making conscious decision and assuming responsibility for improving one's health and fitness will result in good health and improved quality of life. The choices, great and small, that one makes influence and impact on one's health and wellness. Although certain diseases are predisposed by genetic factors, studies have shown that many illnesses are preventable (example, heart diseases, cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, stroke and diabetes). The preventive strategies include caution in what we eats and drinks, level of exposure to stress, patterns of sleep exercise, attitude to life/lifestyle and environment exposure.

Abstract:The Aim of This Study: was to use Delphi Technique in Developing Strategies for Preventing Violence in the Egyptian Community and categorize these strategies.
Background: Preventing violence is a public health priority. The Delphi method is a structured communication technique, originally developed as a systematic, interactive forecasting method which relies on a panel of experts. The Delphi method provided a framework that enabled the collection and analysis of expert knowledge on the subject of violence. Design: qualitative study using Delphi Technique.

Abstract: Preterm labor (PTL) is a leading cause of neonatal and infant mortality as well as short- and long- term disability. The aim of this study is to; determine the association between occupational, pregnancy hazards, psychosocial factors and preterm birth. A case-control design was selected in carrying out this study and a representative sample of 300 parturient women (150 with preterm labor and 150 with term labor) were recruited for this study. The tool used for data collection was; a structured interview sheet to collect data about age, name, education, occupation, pregnancy hazards, psychosocial factors associated with preterm birth.
