Title | : | The Effectiveness of Using Ice Application on Vascular Access Site Complication after Cardiac Catheterization |
Country | : | Egypt |
Authors | : | Shimaa EL-Sayed Ibraheem |
Abstract: It has been estimated that more than 5 million diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations procedures are performed annually in the United States. Cardiac catheterizations are becoming the gold standard for the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of cardiac diseases (American Heart Association, 2013). Despite the beneficial effect of cardiac catheterization in reducing morbidity and mortality of the cardiovascular disease, this invasive procedure is not free of complications such as: hematoma, retroperitoneal hemorrhage, pseudo - aneurysm, arteriovenous fistula, arterial occlusion, femoral neuropathy, and infection. Authors | : | Sanaa Abd El-Azim Ibrahim || Rasha Ibrahim El Sayed || Magdy Mamdouh Attala || Nehal Kamal Elmezin |
Abstract: A descriptive co-relational research design was used to determine the relationship between head nurses' leadership styles (established via staff nurses' points of view) and staff nurses' job performance. This study was conducted in Mansoura Emergency Hospital, affiliated to Mansoura University at Egypt. Study subjects included all staff nurses working in all in-patient units in Mansoura Emergency Hospital with a total number of 110 staff nurse. Data collection tools were a leadership questionnaire and performance evaluation checklist. Results revealed that the level of performance among the staff nurses was relatively low. No statistically significant relationship was found between leadership styles and nurses' performance. The study recommended that, training programs on advanced leadership styles and performance appraisal should be conducted for head nurses and staff nurses.

Title | : | Reseach the Value of the Type B Diuretic Peptide (Nt-Probnp) In the Assessment of Heart Failure in Children |
Country | : | Vietnam |
Authors | : | Hai Lt || Hoa Ph || Vinh Na || Hong Ttm |
Abstract: Heart failure is a disease which causes many serious complications, even death, without early diagnosis and on-time treatment. Quantitative serum NT-proBNP is a valuable tool in the diagnosis of heart failure in children. Objective: To study the value of the type B diuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in diagnosis of heart failure in children. Study method: A prospective case-control study was carried out. Study patients: 80 children were diagnosed with heart failure and they were also classified into different degrees of heart failure according to modified Ross Heart Failure Classification. The control group had 80 patients without cardiovascular disease. Quantitative serum NT-proBNP concentrations and cardiac ultrasound data were analyzed and compared between the treatment group and the control group.
