Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. (Mrs.) Manjeet Hundal |
Abstract: Even in the beginning of the twenty first century with the attack at World Trade Center (America), terrorism continues to be one of the major issues, which the world is facing. In the early 1970's Germany experienced the activities of the ultra left-wing groups such as the Red Army Faction (RAF) and the Baader-Meinhof group. Spain has had the experience of Basque terrorists, Italy of the Red Brigades and Britain of the republican extremist groups such as the Irish Republican Army (IRA) in the Northern Ireland. The Tamil terrorist groups agitating for an independent 'Eelam' state in the North-East of Sri Lanka, Sikh extremists used terrorism for an independent 'Khalistan' in Punjab, India.

Title | : | Virat Siba – The father of the nation |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | K.N. Mishra |
Abstract: Historians believe Alexander died in June323 B.C. in Babylon. Had he really died there, the world to-day must have been quite different. It would have been free from gods and goddesses. His remaining alive and clandestine hide became a scourge for India. Of course, his follower were the first to carry on the art of creation of words on a scientific basis, it was their hunger to avenge the defeat which led them to the limit of perversion. They could have defended their claim of superiority even without creating gods and goddesses, It is only the future generation of historians which will judge their wisdom in the acrobatic display of their genius

Title | : | Micro-finance: Critical Views on Poverty Alleviation and Changing Gender Relations |
Country | : | Bangladesh |
Authors | : | Md. Humayun Kabir |
Abstract: Micro-finance as an anti-poverty program addresses the poor and gender issue. Applying the documentary research method, this paper examines that it has both positive and negative impacts on poverty and gender relations. Different studies show that micro-finance alleviates poverty and empower women bringing changes in gender relations. Contrarily, it also becomes the cause of some people's further poverty, and gender based violence. Finally, this paper concludes that micro-finance is not a panacea, but it helps alleviate poverty and promote positive gender relations. It is considered as a means for the poor women and men to escape themselves from the poverty, and as the means for women's empowerment.

Title | : | The Need for the Reconstruction of the centripetal periods of Family Life in Okene Metropolis |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Agali, Paulina Obioma PhD |
Abstract: Some of the challenges being faced by Nigerians have been attributed to the involvement and activities of individuals with bad and questionable character. This in turn has been blamed on the absence of good moral upbringing at home which is the primary duty of parents especially the women. This problem is intensified by the fact that women are now primary breadwinners in many households and as a result of the interchangeable roles of men and women in the family, great damage is being done to society in general. There is thus a need to reconstruct the basic tenets of the family with particular reference to women. This paper investigated the need for the reconstruction of the centripetal periods of family life by adopting the Descriptive research design.

Title | : | The Depiction of the Metaphysical in German and African Fiction: a study of strange illnesses in Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis" and Ngugi WA Thiongo's Wizard of the Crow |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Terhemba Shija P.hD |
Abstract: This paper examines the early 20th Century prose-fiction of German writer, Franz Kafka and that of African writer, Ngugi Wa Thiongo's 21st Century novel, which, both describe strange illnesses of their major characters that defy orthodox cure. Each writer operating in a separate literary tradition and space, and with contrasting levels of civilization, is uniquely different in his diagnosis and prescription of cure. The paper proves that metaphysical elements were a recurrent decimal in human living whether we admit it or not, as the use of these strange phenomena in fiction by the two writers portends more than a parable or an allegory. It also proves that the modernist world-views of maintaining monolithic ideas about human existence was no longer sacrosanct. Kafka appears more helpless than Wa Thiongo who deploying Freudian concepts, appears to have solutions for the metaphysical ailment, in a postmodernist era.

Authors | : | MurtalaGaniyuMurgan || GarbaUmaruKwagyang || Shafi"i Abdul Azeez Bello |
Abstract: The doctrine of judicial precedent, which states that the court must stand by what has been decided in a case when deciding a new case by a judge in court, is commonly known among the countries that practice common law system as a strong tool for preserving uniformity in judicial decisions among courts, but in the recent past, the operation of the doctrine is said to differ from the above, thereby resulting into disparities in pronouncement of judicial decisions especially among courts of co-ordinate jurisdiction. This paper makes an expository study of compliance with judicial precedent in all categories of courts in Malaysia and Nigeria with a view to knowing the areas of compliance and non-compliance with judicial precedent.

Title | : | Religion and Its Role in Society |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Shanjendu Nath |
Abstract: Religion occupies an important place in human society. It is believed by many thinkers that religion is instinctive in men. Almost all the aspects of society including economic and political regions are guided and controlled by it. It formulates human conduct, behaviour, social sense morality etc. But in spite of all these, there are some dark sides of it, for which some thinkers are of the opinion that if religion is eradicated from the society, many bad things will be vanished and people will live peacefully. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the meaning, origin, different aspects and role of religion in society. Side by side efforts will be given to delineate the dark aspects of it and finally to justify the necessity of religion in society.
Key words: Consciousness, God, Religion, Social, suffering.

Title | : | Delineating Sphere of Urban Influence: The Case of Three Early Urban Centres of Eastern India |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Koushik Mandal || Soumendu Chatterjee || Nilanjana Das Chatterjee |
Abstract: Urbanization and regional development are intimately allied. Higher and lower order facilities and specialization of activities influence urban growth which diffuses its benefit to the surrounding countryside. Subsequently, socio-economic development of the region comes into being. Optimum level of growth of an urban centre depends on the capacity to provide required facilities to the people. Hierarchical growth of urban centre in association with the location of civic amenities induces regional development in hierarchical dimension. In case of Eastern India, few of the urban centres are having large number of facilities while others are lacking in correspondence to their population size. Formulation of pragmatic planning model is the rescue of wiping out such problems.
