Abstract: The coffee industry of India is the sixth largest producer of coffee in the world, accounting for over four percent of world coffee production, with the bulk of all production taking place in its Southern states. It is believed that coffee has been cultivated in India longer than anywhere outside of the Arabian Peninsula. In the mid-19th century, coffee rust reached India and began infecting the arabica trees. By 1869, the rust had become an epidemic. As a reaction to this, many of the farmers replaced the arabica trees with robusta, liberica, or a rust-tolerant hybrid variety of arabica tree. These more resistant trees are still commonly grown in India. There are over 1, 71,000 coffee farms in India.........

Abstract: Dermatoglyphics is one of the physical stable parameters that we study in Anthropology and many a scientist from time to time evinced a keen interest even from ancient time. Since dermatoglyphics traits never change throughout the life of an individual, it has been utilized to study various clinical disorders and diseases. In the present study, an attempt has been made to know the variation of different finger pattern types of the pulmonary tubercular patients and to determine the association of finger-ball dermatoglyphics with pulmonary tuberculosis. The data for the present study was collected from the TB clinic, RIMS and TB Hospital,Chingmeirong. The data consist of the bilateral finger-ball dermatoglyphics of 250 pulmonary tubercular patients(Male= 125,Female= 125) and 250 normal individuals(Male=125,Female= 125).A higher percentage frequency of whorls has been...........

Abstract: Kalimpong District in the Eastern Himalaya in West Bengal, India has been intensely destabilized by many landslides. Recently the incidence of landslide occurrence has increased rapidly with the gradual anthropogenic abuse of slopes specially the development of transport arteries and consequent jerk and vibration by vehicles. Due to landslides, the Darjeeling Himalayan region faces major problems of geoenvironmental imbalance and poses threats to life and property. In 2015, a major landslide occurred near Kalijhora area on right bank of Teesta river along NH 10, between Sevok – Teesta bazaar road, Kalimpong District, West Bengal. This landslide is reactivated last few years causing disruption of traffic along this important hill route and creating recurrent economic loss to the state exchequer. In view of the importance of the Kalihora landslide, detailed investigations incorporating relevant engineering geological and geotechnical parameters were carried out in order to find out the factor of safety

Abstract: Damage to forest land, plantations, has had wide-ranging impacts on the environmental, institutional and political aspects associated with the accessibility and biodiversity of forest resources. The criminal offence of burning land, forest and plantation done by company (corporation) to open new land by burning/destroying habitat around it, is a form of criminal act that can't be tolerated anymore, because the impact of his actions harm the damage to enviromental, and other ecosystems, and can damage the health of the surrounding community. - The most obvious damage is to the forest where the fires are occurring. Therefore, for the future it is time for the corporation both the board and its business may be subject to the provisions as regulated in the legislation both National and International as well as the most recent provision is Supreme Court Regulation No. 13 of 2016.......

Abstract: Language plays a key role in structuring the lives of Hijra population of India, both as a force of exclusion and as a tool for gaining access to the society. Language is thus a site of struggle for Hijra population, which is interminably political in nature. But the prevailing consensus in Linguistics, excludes politics and struggle from the domain of study of language; rather language is paradigmatically divided into essence and existence, and politics and struggle are isolated as a question only relevant to language's performance. In this paper, I argue that such an approach limits a genuine critical analysis of language, thus consequently protecting language in the work of maintaining status quo. Here, instead of employing the dominant linguistic methods which are uncritical towards the.........

Abstract: In 1833, the British Government made Manbhum as a district to suppress the successive revolt in JangalMahal . in 1912, when the province in Bihar & Orissa was made , The Manbhum district was joined with the new province. From this time the Govt. of Bihar started to propagate the language Hindi in Bengali speaking Manbhum with great craft. In 1937, the Govt. of Bihar introduced "Domicile Certificate Act‟ and made the Bengali speaking people of this province into second class citizens. In protest against this injustice, Bihar-Bengali samiti‟ was established in 1938. After the Independence, the Bihar Govt. became very strict about the language Bengali and ordered to accept Hindi compulsorily in govt and non govt organizations . The president of Manbhun zilla congress, Atul Chandra Ghosh and many others protested strongly against this and appealed to the president of India, the Prime minister, and.......
