Abstract: This paper aims at investigating the ways in which Walt Whitman incorporated and grappled with the issue of the Civil War in his poetry. Throughout his life and work, he promoted himself as the poet of American democracy. However, this sense of joy and celebration was temporarily disrupted by the Civil War and its ugly aftermaths; Whitman‟s optimism was blighted for a while, but his boundless faith in human goodness enabled him to transcend the evil of the Civil War. He soon realized that the atrocities and horrors of the Civil War and the corruption he witnessed during the Reconstruction Era were only transient phases in American history and that America will rise from the ashes into something more beautiful and regenerate.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the meaningless, empty lives of the "Bright Young People" as depicted in Waugh‟s Vile Bodies and Powell‟s Afternoon Men. Both novels are vivid reflections of the purposeless, empty life of this generation between the two World Wars. The Bright Young People, in both novels drift from one place to another, wasting their energies in transient pursuits such as parties, gossip, drinking and motor races. Their lack of purpose and direction drives them to fill the vacuum of their life searching for fun, hysteria and excitement in their most extreme forms

Abstract: It has been observed that the general poor performance in science subjects is due to inadequate laboratory resources. This was an expository study to investigate laboratory adequacy and performance in secondary school Chemistry in Kesses Sub-County. The aim of the study was to determine how laboratory adequacy affects chemistry performance. The study assumed that the K.C.S.E performance was a true reflection of the effect of laboratory adequacy in chemistry. This study was guided by constructivist theory attributed to Jean Piaget. A sample of 30 percent of the target population was used to conduct the study. The students were involved through questionnaires while an inventory..........

Abstract: Two field experiments were conducted during the 2015 rainy season at the teaching and research farm of Bayero University Kano new campus (Latitude 120 58 'N and Longitude 80 25'E) and at the National Horticultural Research Institute Bagauda, Kano (110 33'N and 80 23'E), both located in the Sudan savanna ecological zone of Nigeria to evaluate the response of vegetable Amaranth (Amaranthus cruentus L.) to Gibberellic acid concentrations. The treatment consists of four levels of Gibberellic acid (GA3) (0, 200, 400, 600ppm) that were laid using out in a Randomized complete block design with four replications, the net plot was 2m X 1.5m making (3m2) with 0.5m between 1m between replicates. Application of GA3 400ppm and 600ppm significantly increased plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight, dry weight at both locations in addition application..........

Abstract: Transportation problem (TP) is a special case of linear programming problem (LPP) in which cost optimization has been made on the base of demand and resources. Optimization of cost is a common objective in TP. There is a lot of work on different objectives by various researchers has been published such that minimize shipping cost, minimum deterioration while transportation, minimize delivery time, etc. Combing of more than two objectives are multi-objective transportation problem. Different approached for methods solving multi-objective transportation problem (MOTP) also discusses by various authors viz. Goal programming problem, fuzzy techniques, genetic algorithm, etc. In the present paper, we have analyzed the transportation of Urea from different Ports of Karaikal, Tuticorin and Vizagapattinam in the state of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in India by using Multi Objective Transportation Problem to minimize the total distance as well as time and cost.

Abstract: Introduction: Socio-economic status is an important factor in determining the quality of life of women. It has been observed that women of lower socio-economic status often do not avail the existing reproductive health care services, particularly delivery care services. Socio-economic factors have great influence on the use of healthcare services. Educational levels influence the use of health services in several ways such as antenatal check-ups, institutional deliveries, consulting the doctors, contraceptive usage and sexual health care. Study Area: The Papanasam taluk chosen as a study area is located in the northern part of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. Objectives:1) to examine the socio-economic characteristics and the living conditions of pregnant women, 2) to investigate the pregnancy, abortion, preference of child and mind-set of pregnant women and 3) to identify and analyse the factors responsible........

Abstract: The present work makes a discussion about the concepts of Quality, more specifically, Educational Quality present in the Constituição Federal de 1988 (CF/88), the Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional, (Lei 9.394/96 (LDB) and the legal scope from these important sources of educational law. It was possible throughout this study to detect several inconsistencies, be it at the juridical-political level or at the conceptual level, pointing to an apparent lack of definition about the notion of quality, which has underlying, a reference that is far from that recommended in Law..

Abstract: Both the terms plant diversity and conservation have recently gained popularity. Now differentmeasures are being taken for the conservation of plant diversity globally. Colonial Darjeeling (Part of the Eastern Himalayas) was very rich in plant diversity. Colonial intervention in Darjeeling had both the negative and positive impacts. Theexploitative nature of the British policies led to the destruction of plant diversity. Early British policies were aimed at the exploitation or destruction of different kinds of plant species. But later on many conservative steps were taken. Forest conservation wasmain step in this regard. Almost all kinds of degrading activities were forbidden.......
