Abstract: Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been emerged as a challenging public health issue in worldwide. It is the third largest increase of any major cause of death in the United States. In Bangladesh, CKD prevalence was 9.9% according to C-G equation and 7.2% according to MDRD study equation.Therefore researcher conducted this study to explore the characteristics of chronic kidney Disease patients in Bangladesh. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of patients with chronic kidney disease. Methodology: A descriptive study design was carried out by face to face interview and hospital record. One hundred and twenty participants were conveniently recruited from a tertiary level hospital in Bangladesh. Characteristics of kidney disease were identified using Socio-Demographic Questionnaire (SDQ-11), Clinical Characteristics Questionnaire (CCQ-17) and Health Behavioural Questionnaire (HBQ-3).
