Abstract: Background: Zirconomer is a zirconia-reinforced glass ionomer restorative material with improved mechanical properties; however, its performance under occlusal loading may be influenced by the presence of surface defects and moisture-related degradation. Protective resin coatings have been reported to improve the surface integrity and mechanical properties of glass-ionomer-based restorative materials.
