Title | : | The correlation of Personality Traits and Academic performance: A review of literature |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Bindu Kumari |
: | 10.9790/0837-19471518 |
Abstract:The early researches on the relationship between personality and academic performance have aroused ambiguous conclusions, mainly because of the different theoretical bases and due to the use of variable research methodologies by the researchers. The acceptance of Factorial Models of personality and the new techniques in research has made the exploration of the correlation of personality traits and academic achievement easy. The Five Factor Model brought order to the previous "chaotic plethora" of personality measures. The present paper reviews the studies conducted using Five Factor Model of personality and explains the correlation between dimensions of personality and academic performance which in turn would help in selection of suitable candidates for higher studies and decrease "Drop Out" rate in colleges and universities.
Keywords: Personality traits, Academic performance, Five Factor Model.

Abstract:To effectively analyze the relationship between socio-economic factors and resource-based conflicts, the two variables were assessed in a number of dimensions. The five dimensions used to assess socio-economic factors include: education, ethnicity, employment status, religion and age. Resource-based conflicts, on the other hand, was assessed by considering two dimensions: involvement in resource-based conflicts and knowledge of the time of the conflicts. The dimensions were used so as to understand the two concepts under the study – socio-economic factors and resource-based conflicts.

Abstract:This paper has encapsulated the detailed exegetical meanings of πìστις (Faith) in John 14:12 from both the Old Testament and New Testament understandings. The paper went further to enunciate the theological meanings of the two promises of Jesus in John 14:12. The paper having analyzed the elements of faith, submitted that the πìστις in John 14:12 requires proactive and discretionary faith to do greater miracles. The paper concluded by contextualizing John 14:12 to the contemporary society and then postulated that πìστις έν Ίησους is the solution to the societal and individuals' problems of the present day.

Abstract:Traditionally, the political structures of the Khasi States were basically democratic and functioned independently and there was no centralised structure. The evolution of Syiemship can be attributed to the vital role played by the Basans and Lyngdohs to transform the society, which still continues and is practiced in this land (H Bareh, 1997: 234).

Abstract:Gender discrimination is one of the most serious issues confronted by every culture, and country these days. The term Gender discrimination or Sexism can be described as unfair treatment of a group or a person due to their gender or sex. In theory, gender discrimination can affect both men and women, but in most cases it is women who have been at the receiving end since most cultures in the world are patriarchal, or male dominated. According to the United Nations, discrimination against women is taking place in every society, where women do not have equal opportunities as men. Even in advance and developed countries of the world, women still experience the unfairness of the "glass ceiling‟,
