Title | : | Human-Reluctant Modernity: The Reason of Tommy Wilhelm's Painful Isolation in Saul Bellow's Seize the Day |
Country | : | Bangladesh |
Authors | : | Md.Morshedul Alam |
Abstract: In English literature, men of modern civilization are shown on many occasions as experiencing the futility and misery of modern existence. In this regard Saul Bellow‟s Seize the Day is worth-mentioning. In this text Bellow has shown a man‟s indescribable sufferings in the shape of excruciating isolation in a capitalistic American society of modern civilization. Inversing the right course of action, in a capitalistic or modern society matters or money are given far more importance than human affairs and humanity. This inversion predictably gives rise to acute isolation and sufferings. In accordance with it,..............

Title | : | Social ostracisation- A study reflecting aftermath of female imprisonment |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Budhiswatya Shankar Das |
Abstract: Women in contemporary prison face various problems, few resulting from their lives prior to imprisonment and others resulting from imprisonment itself. Social factors that marginalise their participation in mainstream society thus contribute in the rise in number of women in prison. Lack of support and social ostracisation during imprisonment and after release make their and their families‟ lives a veritable hell. Low level of education and poor legal awareness makes women more likely to serve longer sentences in prison. Navigation of a myriad of systems that often provide fragmented services can pose a barrier to successful reintegration. Here is a case study revealing the social effects faced by female offenders and their families on imprisonment............

Title | : | Intégration du Traitement Spécial et Différencié dans le cadre des Accords de Partenariat Economique entre l'Union Européenne et les Etats d'Afrique, Caraïbes et Pacifique. |
Country | : | Morocco |
Authors | : | Calliste NIZANA |
Abstract: Therevision of the cooperation between the European Union (EU) and the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States under the Cotonou Agreement signed in 2000, provided for the establishment of Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) compatible with Article XXIV of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). This reform of the trade regime of the Cotonou Agreement raised a controversy between the EU and the ACP States on the possibility of incorporating provisions on Special and Differential Treatment (SDT), a principle recognized by the WTO, in EPAs. Given that Article XXIV of the GATT does not mention explicitly the SDT principle, its interpretation and the negotiations between the EU and ACP states have resulted in integration of SDT principle in the context of the Cotonou Agreement and EPAs. The main provisions included in the EPAs are those relating to trade capacity building in the ACP States and those relating to asymmetrical trade liberalization between the EU and the ACP countries that is to say the flexibilities in terms of commitments and longer transition periods for ACP States..............

Country | : | Armenia |
Authors | : | N. Zarikian || B. Gasparyan |
Abstract: The cave site Areni-1, located in south-eastern Armenia, which has been excavated during 2007-2013, yielded rich assemblages of micromammal remains from the Late Chalcolithic and Medieval sequences. In this research the tooth remains of found micromammals are reported.The tooth remains belong to (3) orders including; 1) Order Rodentia: fam. Muridae, fam. Cricetidae, fam. Gerbillidae, fam. Arvicolidae, fam. Dipodidae, fam. Soricidae and fam. Sciuridae. 2) Order Lagomorpha: fam. Ochotonidae 3) Order Chiroptera.Presented research in based on morphologic and morphometric methods using modern comparative neontological specimens of the osteological collection in NAS RA Institute of Zoology.Based on this study, paleoenvironmental aspects in Areni have been discussed, showing that the environmental interpretations drawn from the Areni-1 cave rodents are based on the use of modern analogues and the assumption that ecological requirements and/or behavior have remained constant for both the rodents and the accumulating agency...........

Title | : | Patriarchal Designs in Shashi Deshpande's 'The Dark Holds No Terrors' |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. L. M. SWARNALATHA |
Abstract: Beginning from the first inception of the Universe, there is a fascinating myth associated with the creation of woman by the Supreme Creator, Lord Brahma. And indeed, beginning from Brahma himself, the idea of feminism in Indian literature, both oral and written, had begun to be established, though perhaps not as blatant as is today. It is said that Brahma had first created man and in his generosity, had desired to give man a companion. But by then he had depleted all the material in the creation of man and hence he had borrowed umpteen components from the handsome creation of nature and had thus made woman out of them. Lord Brahma had introduced woman to his earlier creation man stating, "She will serve you lifelong and if you cannot live with her, neither can you live without her"..........

Title | : | Spirituality, Self efficacy, Age, and Gender as predictors of Psychological Wellbeing among Flood Survivors in Nigeria |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | 1Uchenna C. Onuoha || Oluwabukola V. Bada |
Abstract: -There are existing gaps in local literature regarding the roles of spirituality and self-efficacy in enhancing psychological wellbeing among disaster survivors, even though the salutary influence of these personal attributes on psychological health have been demonstrated in past studies. Utilizing standardized measures, this study examined spirituality, self-efficacy, age, and gender as predictors of psychological wellbeing among flood survivors in one state in southwest Nigeria that recently experienced flooding. Data were collected using standardized scales that measured psychological wellbeing, spirituality, and self-efficacy. These scales were revalidated for use in the study, and they all yielded high Cronbach alpha coefficients. Three hundred and forty-nine (n = 349) respondents comprising 131 females and 218 males whose ages ranged between 20years and 54years were surveyed.
