Title | : | State Violence and Impunity in the Borderlands: The Case study of Kashmir and Manipur |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Zahid Hussain |
Abstract: The violence directed by the state institutions and the impunity that it enjoys has received scant regard in the academic circles. Organizations abound that highlight the issue but in the academic sense of term there is alarming paucity of attention that this serious issue has so far received. The purpose of this paper thus is to explore the interplay of state institutions and the systematic violence it directs to achieve the desired ends in the borderlands or the fringe territories. The paper argues that the violence that has been directed, even in the enormous proportions, has failed to bring the territories under the effective control of the centre. In contrast, it has further distanced the populations of these territories from the state...........

Country | : | Indonesia |
Authors | : | Dr. Siti Malikhatun Badriyah || S.H. M.Hum |
Abstract: Standard contract is an agreement drawn up unilaterally by the constituent agreement, without the knowledge of the other party. In this case the parties just to leave or take the agreement, without being able to increase or decrease the contents of the agreement. Therefore, in general the opposition (which is not involved in setting up the agreement), are in a weak position. Standard contract is intended to save cost, time and effort, so it is very helpful when viewed in economic terms. The background of standard contract is due to socio-economic circumstances. Standard contract has binding force based on the traditions..........

Title | : | Structural dysfunctioning and production relationships in the village palm oil plantations of Tiapoum In the south east of Côte d'Ivoire |
Country | : | The Ivory Coast |
Authors | : | OUATTARA Nanfonhoro |
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the nature of the production relationships between the planters and the development agents, such as the managers and delegates of the agro-industries (PALM-CI and DEKEL OIL) and the supervisors of COOPALM Adouvlais cooperatives involved in the development of palm oil growing in Tiapoum. It helps understand the economic behaviour of the above mentioned stakeholders in a context of a structural crisis marked on the one hand, by the reduction in the purchase price of the palm bunch and the absence of a consensual mechanism of regulation and control of oil production and, on the other hand, by the spatial domination of PALMCI in this locality..........

Title | : | Implementation of The Method Breeam Ecohomes For Social Housing In The Algerian Urban Context |
Country | : | France |
Authors | : | Dr. Dahmani Krimo || Dr. Marc Mequignon |
Abstract: Thinking on the approaches and indicators of sustainable development is a recent activity. These are needed to evaluate urban designs at different scales. Therefore, we can predict future logic developments of the urban texture. This thought came to substitute modernism. The modern social housing programs are realized as nonfunctional neighborhoods. This quantitative modern approach has lead to a strong socio-urban segregation without taking into consideration the social practices. Faced with this failure, a challenge is needed to establish a new policy of collective housing that takes into account the sustainable approach. In Algeria, since the 1970s, entire social neighborhoods are thus exposed to exclusion. This evokes the search for a balanced urban system............

Country | : | Kenya |
Authors | : | Said M-Shidad Hussein || Dr. Willy Muturi || Dr. Hellen Mberia |
Abstract: As one of the primary milk and meat producing livestock species, cattle contribute greatly to food security in Somalia. Cattle usually account for 25% of milk production and 24% of exportation income in Somalia. However, cattle population has drastically been decreasing in northern Somalia including Puntland for the last 25 years. As reflection of cattle situation in Somalia, over 90% of cattle population in Puntland was claimed by diseases and droughts during 1992-2004. Today's surviving population is 95% less than that of 1991 or 2001. The objective of the research was to determine factors that affect cattle production in Nugaal region of northeastern Somalia............
