Abstract: Violence against young women is a phenomenon that is widespread in many African Societies. Existing studies by literary scholars and critics suggest that violence has fundamental consequences on women as it affects them physically and emotionally. This study therefore investigated the sexual exploitation, helplessness and humiliation and mental experienced by young female characters in this novel. The study employs feminism as its theoretical framework. The findings revealed that sexually exploited victims are subjected to physical and emotional violence. The study further reveals that sexual exploitation metamorphosed into shame, regret, feelings of helplessness, worthlessness and that death is a social consequence of violence against women..
