Abstract: The study was designed to determine the differences in achievement goal orientation due to school type. The research adopted a correlational study design. Using stratified random sampling 12 schools were selected. Through proportionate stratified sampling, one girl's only and one boys' only boarding, one co-educational boarding and nine co-educational day schools were selected. Participants were 631 secondary school students in form three. All the participants completed the Achievement Goal Questionnaire Revised (AGQ-R).
