Abstract: This study investigated the internal mechanism of the relationship between primary school students' learner autonomy, teacher support and their academic performance. A mediation model was constructed, focused on the mediation effects of parental involvement in the relation between learner autonomy and academic performance, and between teacher support and academic performance. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 405 students in grades 3–6 and their parents, in the city of Dingxi in Gansu Province.
