Abstract: Persistent nausea and vomiting associated with hyperemesis gravidarum in early pregnancy remains a significant health problem that result in negative side effects on women and their pregnancy. The aim of the study:was to evaluate the effectiveness of nurses using for P6 acupressure on nausea, vomiting and retching in women with hyperemesis gravidarum. Methods:A Randomized clinical Trial was used, the study conducted on 120 women diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum admitted to maternity high risk care unit Mansoura University Hospital, Egypt in a period of six months and divided randomly in P6 acupressure and conventional therapy group. Data were collected by two tools; 1stA structured Interviewing Questionnaire Schedule and 2nd Rhodes Index of Nausea, Vomiting and Retching (INVR).

Abstract: Acute lung injury Patients may require mechanical ventilation to survive, Chest physiotherapy and Recruitment maneuvers are two methods that improve respiratory efficiency, re-inflate collapsed regions , promote lung mechanics , reduce occurrence of pulmonary complications. Aim: This study was carried out to investigate the effect of chest Physiotherapy and recruitment maneuvers on lung mechanics and pulmonary complications among mechanically ventilated patients with Acute Lung Injury Design: Quasi-experimental research design.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of propolis dressing technique on healing of septic diabetic foot ulcer patients. Design A true experimental design was utilized to fulfill the aim of the study. Design The study was carried out in vascular surgery department and outpatient clinic at Assiut university hospital. Subjects: Simple random sample of 60 patients with DFUs divided equally to control and study subjects. Three tools were used for data collection including Tool I. An interview questionnaire tool,two parts: Tool II. Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) parameter assessment tool.Results: this study was performed on 60 patients, their mean ages ranged between 32.63±10.65 and 32.17+11.29 respectively. 60% of the control and study subject at the beginning of the assessment had wound bed necrosis,

Title | : | Improving Internship Knowledge and Performance about Oral Hygiene Bundle for Mechanically Ventilated Patients |
Country | : | Egypt |
Authors | : | Marwa M. Abd Elbaky || Ibrahim Abbas Youssef || Azza Hamdi El-Soussi || Mervat Anwar Abd El-Aziz |
Abstract: Oral hygiene is an integral part of care in ICUs, Nurses rank oral care a high priority, there is a theory-practice gap in relation to nurse administered oral hygiene and oral care methods are not consistent with the current research. This gap has attributed to inadequate training or lack of written protocols. Aim of study: is to improve internshiop nurse's knowledge and performance about standardized oral hygiene technique for traumatic mechanically ventilated patients. Patients and method: a quasi experimental research was conducted in trauma intensive care unit at Mminia university hospital in Egypt. Convenience sample of all available internship nurses (about 50 nurse).

Authors | : | Dr. Rabe'a Mohsen Ali,PhD || Sarab Nasr Fadhil, MSc.N |
Abstract: The tremendous progress in the field of surgery and care of the newborn has made cesarean delivery safer for the mother and the fetus. Objectives: The study aimed to identify the caesarean section rate for five years from 2009 until 2013 in AL-Elwyia Maternity Teaching Hospital. Methodology: A retrospective study appropriately designed was conducted through a review of relevant statistics from 2007 to 2013 from annual report of Ministry of Health regarding the incidence of C/S in Iraq, Al-Ruasafa directorate, and Elwyia Maternity Teaching Hospital statistics regarding the incidence of cesarean section for the period between 2 February to 17 April 2014.

Country | : | Zimbabwe |
Authors | : | Mathilda Zvinavashe || Victor Mombo || Doreen Mukona |
Abstract: Globally, an estimated 33, 5 million (32, 2 million – 38, 8 million) people are living with HIV/AIDS and since the start of the epidemic around 75 million (63 million -89 million) people have become infected with HIV. According to the Central Statistical Office population projections of 2012, the current projected population of Zimbabwe is 12,7 million and Zimbabwe is among countries in Sub Saharan Africa heavily affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. According to the National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe (NAC), as of December 2012, Zimbabwe had a current HIV prevalence of 15% with an estimated number of 1 242 768 people living with HIV. Treatment adherence is a problem in chronic diseases and average non-adherence rate of 24, 8% has been reported with the highest rates in patients with HIV.
