Abstract: Sleep is an area of functioning that is frequently impaired in cancer patients; The National cancer institute (NCI) estimates that sleep disturbances are twice as prevalent in cancer patients as in the general population. There is growing evidence that prolonged sleep deprivation may impair innate immunity and at the same time restorative sleep enhances immune competence. Regardless of the role of sleep in recovery from cancer it is likely that improved sleep will enhance the patient's quality of life, tolerance to treatment and mood. Sleep hygiene practices encompasses a variety of behaviors and environmental factors that may affect sleep quality. This study aims to assess sleep hygiene practices and sleep pattern among cancer patients, and to identify the relationship between.......

Abstract: Limited information on the foetal craniofacial dimensions of Fulani population is a great hindrance in the exact estimation of gestational age not only in medicolegal cases but also in obstetric management. Sonographic measurement of Biparietal diameter is commonly used to assess foetal age and growth; but gives misleading conclusions due to differing craniofacial dimensions arising out of ethnic diversity. This study was aimed to establish a normogram for foetal cephalic index and derive the correction factor for adjusting atypical head shapes to the ideal shape. A cross sectional study was used, and Trans-abdominal sonography was conducted with a 3.5 MHz transducer......

Abstract: The birth of an infant is one of the most wonderful and emotional events that can occur in one's life time. Immediately after birth the newborn must make rapid adjustment to successfully adapt to life outside the womb. The first few days of life is a period of transition occurring all of a sudden from intra uterine environment to a completely independent life. Newborns come from a warm environment to the cold and fluctuating temperatures of this world. After delivery the newborn must adapt to its relatively cool environment by production of heat metabolically as they are not able to generate heat by an adequate shivering response.
