Abstract: Background: The importance of preoperative teaching is consistently supported in nursing and medical literature however; few studies have been done to determine the adequacy of the information provided to surgical patients. In the short time available, nurses must be able to select and use variety of teaching materials/tools as well as precisely deliver adequate information to surgical patients; provide answers to their questions and gain compliance to ensure better postoperative outcomes. Therefore, theaim of this study was to determine the adequacy of preoperative teaching provided for surgical patients in selected hospitals of Kano state from patients' perspectives. Sample, stratified simple random sampling method was utilized to select the study's hospitals then a convenience sampling method was applied to various units of the hospitals to collect the data. The sample composed of 100 surgical patients from four different hospitals. Results, indicated that; despite the provision of preoperative teaching, it still remained inadequate (total score: 32.4000 ± 13.07708 [50-75%]) and various factors were responsible........

Abstract: Background: The estimated prevalence of diabetes according to World Health Organization about 422 million adults were living with diabetes in 2014, compared to 108 million in 1980. The global prevalence of diabetes has nearly doubled since 1980, rising from 4.7% to 8.5% in the adult population; this reflects an increase in associated risk factors such as being overweight or obese. According to International Diabetes Federation the incidence of diabetes in Egypt, there were 8,222.6 cases of diabetes in 2017. Abstract: A quasi experimental study to evaluate the effectiveness of self-instructional module on knowledge regarding computer vision syndrome and its prevention among IT workers in selected IT centers at Udaipur city, Rajasthan. The sample consisting of 140 IT workers was selected by using Simple Random sampling technique (Lottery Method). The tool comprised of structured self-administered questionnaire. The pre-test was conducted and the self-instructional module was administered. The post-test was conducted after one week. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Abstract: Back ground: The bakery business can be enjoyable and rewarding profession, but the bakery process generates diverse risks on exposed workers. Most of these hazards are preventable. Aim of the study: to evaluate impact of occupational health program about prevention and control of health hazards among bakery workers at Assuit city. Subjects and Methods: A quiz -experimental research design was utilized in this study. Abstract: A pre experimental study to evaluate the effectiveness of self-instructional module on knowledge regarding coronary angioplasty among staff nurses working in cardiac unit at selected hospitals Udaipur city, Rajasthan. The sample consisting of 120 Staff nurses was selected by using convenient sampling technique. The tool comprised of structured self-administered questionnaire. The pre-test was conducted and the self-instructional module was administered. The post-test was conducted after one week. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The mean score of post-test knowledge 26.64 (83.26%) was apparently higher than the mean score of pre-test knowledge 12.08 (40.00%), suggesting that the self-instructional module was effective in increasing the knowledge of the Staff nurses regarding coronary angioplasty. The mean difference 13.84 between pre-test and post-test knowledge score of the Staff nurses was found to be significant..

Abstract: A quasi experimental study to assess the effectiveness of video assisted teaching programme on knowledge and attitude regarding blood donation among adolescents in selected senior secondary schools at Udaipur, Rajasthan. The sample consisting of 120 adolescents of senior secondary school studentswere selected by using simple random sampling technique. The tool comprised of structured and attitude self-administered questionnaire. The pretest was conducted and the video was showed. The post test was conducted after one week. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The mean score of post-test knowledge 18.50 (66.01%) and attitude 34.5(90.97%) were apparently higher than the mean score of pre-test knowledge 10.55 (37.68%) and attitude 28.57(71.43%), suggesting that the video assisted teaching programme was effective in increasing the knowledge and attitude of the senior secondary school adolescents regarding blood donation. Abstract: Background And Objectives Of Study: A study to assess the knowledge and practice regarding healthy lifestyle pattern among Non teaching staff in selected colleges. Objectives of study were to assess the knowledge and practices regarding healthy lifestyle pattern among Non Teaching staff and to find association of knowledge and practices with selected demographic variables. Methods: Non-experimental Survey Research design was conducted among non teaching staff using demographic Proforma, structured knowledge questionnaire and self reported checklist. Results: The study results revealed that 62% of the Non Teaching staff had Good knowledge, 36% of them had average knowledge and 2% of Non Teaching staff had poor knowledge regarding healthy life style pattern. Abstract: Introduction: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic progressive autoimmune disease that produces a significant negative impact on patients' quality of life which influencing both physical and psychological well-being. Patients with SLE reported significantly worse quality of life in comparison with other chronic patients and even the general population. Abstract: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic debilitating condition that typically increases in severity with aging, with increasingly onerous physical and psychosocial consequences. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the physical and psychosocial adaptation strategies used by COPD patients. Setting: The study was conducted at Inpatient Chest Diseases Units of the Alexandria Main University Hospital. Subjects: Subjects of the study consisted of convenient sample of 100 adult patients with COPD. Tools: Five tools were used to collect the necessary data. Results: Regarding scores of physical disturbance the finding revealed that respiratory disturbance scores was the highest mean of all physical disturbances parameters.
