Abstract: Any discourse regarding the advancement of minority community could not be carried out successfully in the absence of taking up concerns of its own internal challenges and issues of intra-group equality. Muslim Personal Law is one such important challenge that continuously reframes the discourse of politics of Muslim identity. It is obvious that almost all personal laws relegate position of women and are discriminatory in nature, even though over the time, a lot of reforms have been done in personal laws of the Hindu, Christian as well as in Parsi communities. Although these reforms in personal laws are not entirely gender sensitive, but somehow they have progressed and transformed considerably towards an effective course of action. On the contrary...........

Title | : | Re-thinking Female Subjectivity through Magic Realism |
Country | : | Tunisia |
Authors | : | Dr. FatenHouioui |

Abstract: In her novel The Hundred Secret Senses , Amy Tan takes distance from 1990 America and China while travelling back and forth to 1860 Changmian. She revisits the Taiping rebellion, re-affirms the Hakka identity and re-thinks-female Hakkanese subjectivity. She ‗invents' and makes use of ‗the world of yin' that allows her to travel across continents, temporal spaces as well as life and death. Consequently the novel is a magical realist text. There are magic realist elements as in the case of ‗the world of Yin' which is the world of the dead; while reality is demonstrated in the Taiping rebellion (…). The common ground between the two worlds is that the narrator conveys the truth about the Manchu's oppression of the Hakka's minority...........

Title | : | Gold Pawning in Syariah Banking: An Economic Analysis |
Country | : | Indonesia |

Abstract: Gold Pawning in Syariah Banking: An Economic Analysis. Gold Pawning practices in Syariah Banking may create speculative actions due to the volatility of gold prices in markets. The objective of this research is to conduct stress testing whether losses are experienced by the customers while having gold investements or known as berkebun emas. Stress testing is a testing method conducted based on gold farming simulations of the cumulative gold pawning data (qardh) of Indonesian Syariah Banking collected from March 2004 to May 2015. The results of stress testing on gold farming simulations conducted within 131 months show that customers gain profits only within 48 months while the rest 83 months they suffer from losses. It can be concuded that the gold pawning practices are not in accordance with maslahah (public interest) but, in the contrary, contain gharar (deceptive uncertainty). Thus, further studies are highly required to conduct in meeting the syariah.
