Abstract: The paper seeks to look the phenomenon of occupational segregation across gender from the perspective of economic well-being. Accordingly it analyzes the variations in the levels of living across regions differentiated in terms of occupational segregation scores. It has been found that the region with a higher incidence of segregation has also a higher intensity of poverty and the poverty gap is statistically significant. The regional poverty gap is then decomposed into a characteristics effect and a coefficients effect using the familiar Oaxaca decomposition methodology and the results are interpreted in light of some recent developments in the literature. It turns out that quantitative and qualitative expansions in terms of human capital and some of the labor market characteristics are needed to remove the poverty gap.

Abstract: Every society craves naturally to live in communion and understanding with the persons and the groups found in it. This is also in line with the aphorism that man is a 'being-with-others', as against the separatist and segregationist opinion of each person living 'for-itself'. Whereas the first denotes man as altruistic and out-reaching, the latter sees man as selfish and isolated from others around him. To live in communion with others means exercising a high sense of understanding (verstehen) and empathy for his environment. On the contrary, it is entails indifference and apathy. To understand others can be manifested in the effort any government or any society makes to establish institutions of learning which either integrate the citizens or segregate them leading to divisions and separatist tendencies...........

Abstract: Every society needs peace to preserve its environment and cultural heritage, as well as its collective existence as a nation or country, whichever way it is best described or depicted. Peace is a sine qua non for progress and development. It is the function of all those concerned to promote its success, especially in a multi-cultural and pluri-religious society like Nigeria. This means that even the language of communication between peoples of such a cultural heritage must be geared towards a harmonious living. Failure to give peace a chance in such a polity might lead to chaos and anarchy. It is the aim of this paper therefore to contribute to the ongoing debate regarding the modus operandi of preserving the Nigerian society through a healthy promotion of its language, culture, and environment by.............

Abstract: The disadvantaged groups are the most vulnerable sections of the society as their rights are frequently violated by other groups of the people. Among all, disable persons are the most neglected vulnerable group. For a long time they have experienced discrimination, prejudice, neglect and exclusion, in every walk of life. In pre-modern societies the disabled people were eliminated through killing programmes and sterilization and were considered as non-persons and second-class citizens1. Systematic exclusion and discrimination of people with disability has no rational basis, but rests solely on the prejudices and indifferences of the able bodied persons. Disability causes social stigma, because the condition of disability............

Abstract: This article studies the effects and sources of conflict on today's business. The authors considered biblical guidelines and how effective it is to resolving conflict in a business organization. The results suggest that, if the channel of grievances is established and fair hearing is conducted then the parties in conflict can easily resolve their differences. Finally, the article reports evidence that biblical guidelines if adequately follow or implemented, even though conflict is part of day – to –day lifestyle, yet it will yield to positive outcome.

Abstract: Like most of sub-saharan Africa countries, the labor market in Côte d'Ivoire is dominated by informal sector. Facing the consequences of economic crisis such as poverty and unemployment, the insertion in the informal economy through the creation of micro-enterprises is one of the main resilience strategies developed by various social groups (youth, women, immigrants, graduates students, officials and so on). However, the employment in informal economy is characterized by the precariousness of business conditions: unsuitable premises, lack of access tokey public services(water, electricity, telephone). In addition, informal jobs are characterized by low incomes, lack of social protection............

Abstract: An alarming rise in overweight and obesity is occurring worldwide. Obesity is more common than
cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer combined and may be a leading cause of these three disorders and
numerous other morbid states. Despite some advances in research into genetic, metabolic, behavioral,
psychological, and environmental factors, children, adolescents, and adults are continuing to become overweight
and obese in increasing numbers, Especially impressive is the progression of overweight and obesity in children
and adolescents. The diets of the developing world are shifting rapidly, particularly with respect to fat, caloric
