Abstract: Background: This Scientific Article Discusses The Issue Of Food Loss And Waste On The Planet, With An Emphasis On The Lack Of Studies In Brazil And The Need For Coordinated Actions To Tackle The Problem. The Thesis Points Out The Importance Of Public Policies To Encourage Food Loss And Waste Reduction At All Stages Of The Production And Distribution Chain, As Well As Training Programs, Fiscal Incentives, Support For Family Farming, Distribution Of Food To Vulnerable People, And Reverse Logistics. The Importance Of Public Awareness And Education Campaigns Is Also Highlighted, As Well As The Need For Effective Communication And Coordination Of Public Policies.
