Abstract: All of man's activities are based on land, it is the single most important resource man owns and it is limited in supply, which is why this research work carried out an appraisal of land use conversion in Alimosho local government of Lagos State to examine the extent of land use changes, driving factors, effects and roles of urban planning authorities, to provide information on creating a sustainable and more balanced environment. The land concept was adopted for the study. Primary and secondary sources of data were used. The primary source used a questionnaire which was administered by the residents.
