Abstract: Factors like food labelling, socio-economic status, cost, gender, and others have been known to determine the food choice for food selection of an individual. Consumption of food is mostly determined only by hunger, but choosing what to eat cannot be solely determined by physiological and nutritional needs. Determinants of food choices can be classified as biological, economical, physical, social, and psychological. There are other determinants like knowledge about food, common-belief, and behavioral traits like attitude etc. All these determinants play a significant role in selecting food, and this article investigates the understanding of these determinants and their factors by reviewing related articles. The results evaluated depicts the extent to which these determinants influence an individual's food selection

Abstract: The national level training of the faculty of Medical Colleges of different States need not provide for budget in their NRHM/RCH-II Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs) as the funding for this training will be entirely provided by the Government of India. This will include all costs such as TA/DA, stay and other training expenses. Child health has remained an essential component of most of the national health programs in India from Expanded Program of Immunization (EPI) in 1974 to the most recent national rural health mission. In India, common illness in children under 3 years of age include Fever (27%), Acute respiratory infections (17%), Diarrhoea (13%), Malnutrition (43%) and after in combination.

Abstract: Purpose: This study aims to compare yield of stem cells from umbilical cord blood units collected in-utero versus ex-utero. Methods: A descriptive comparative study was carried out at Labor and delivery room, operating room, and Research Center for Cord Stem Cells in Mansoura University, Egypt. A purposive sample of 124 pregnant mothers and their newborns were recruited, 62 umbilical cord blood units were collected inutero and 62 units were collected ex-utero from vaginal and cesarean birth fields. Data were collected through an assessment sheet. Results: Average of umbilical cord blood volume obtained in-utero was significantly larger than that obtained ex-utero (155.8 ±21.2 vs. 147.1 ±23.7 ml respectively; p=0.033). The in-utero collected umbilical cord blood units yielded significantly higher total nucleated cell count (8.9 ±2.6 vs. 7.9 ±2.8 x10 6 /ml respectively; p=0.040), and higher CD34+ counts (31.9 ±8.2 vs. 28.2 ±7.2 x10 3 /ml respectively; p=0.009) equated to those collected ex-utero........

Abstract: Background: Near about thirty years ago, there has been a significant raise in caesarean section (CS) rates in middle- and developed countries all over the world. CS rates persist to increase in spite of data that there is no related enhancement to women or babies health; to a certain extent, CS be able to raise the hazard of complications, such as maternal mortality, reproductive tract injuries. There is data that few women truly prefer CS. The study aimed to explore the prevalence of the preferences of pregnant women regarding mode of delivery. A further aim was to identify associated factors and look into reasons for the preference. Methods: A mixed methods design was used. Utilizing .......
