Abstract: Nursing students must be educated with the most realistic technologies available to improve patients' safety. Nurses are frequently the first people to discover and respond to an in-patient respiratory or cardiac arrest. Thus, successful completion of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course is required by most clinical agencies prior to a nursing student's beginning clinical experiences. Aim of the study: the aim of this study was evaluate the effect of simulation techniques on nurse students' knowledge and satisfaction about resuscitation training........

Abstract: In our environment, few studies have been conducted on pediatric hematologic cancers in relation to environmental risk factors. Thus, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of pediatric cancers in general and pediatric hematologic malignancies in particular, at the Lubumbashi University Clinics (CUL), and to establish possible association between these pathologies and exposure to environmental pollutants. The survey was exhaustive, conducted in two phases: first, a cross-sectional descriptive study of all cases of leukemia or lymphoma recorded in the CUL from 2012 to 2016, in children aged 1 to 17 years old at diagnosis; then, a case-control study on a selected part of cases.........

Abstract: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) has a devastating effect on the activities of daily living of these patients which is evident in their compromised quality of life. Symptomatic PAD is associated with severe limitations in physical function, fear and uncertainty, disturbed self-concept and feelings, and interrupted social relationships. Assessing their quality of life gives a broader understanding of the impact of the disease. This study was aimed to assess the quality of life (QOL) of patients with peripheral arterial occlusive disease and adopted cross sectional design. It was conducted among 100 patients with PAD admitted in the vascular unit of a tertiary........

Abstract: Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) is the most common nosocomial infection, with the prevalence rates ranging 10% to 70% in intensive care units. It is the sub type of hospital acquired pneumonia which occurs in public who are on mechanical ventilation through an endotracheal or tracheostomy tube for at least 48 hours with reported incidence of 6-20 times higher in these patients. A descriptive study was conducted to assess the knowledge of staff nurses regarding ventilator associated pneumonia among patients admitted in intensive care units of selected hospitals of city Jalandhar. The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge of staff nurses regarding VAP among mechanically ventilated patients. The objectives of the study were to assess the knowledge of staff nurses regarding VAP, to find out the association........
