Abstract: Background: Self care practices for preventive measures of herpes zoster are very critical subject to prevent the disease transmission and improve the patient's health status. Aim: assess the self care practices for preventive measures of herpes zoster among patients and their caregivers. Design: Descriptive research design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at dermatology outpatient clinics in Elsayda Zainab in Egypt. Subjects: this study was carried on (200) herpes zoster patients and (200) of their caregivers .Tools: two tools was used in this study, Structural interviewing questionnaire, consist three parts. Assess patients and their caregivers' demographic characteristics, assess patients and their caregivers' knowledge regarding herpes zoster. Assess patients and their caregivers reported self care practices regarding preventive measures to prevent heaps zoster. 2) Observation check list to assess home environment.
