Abstract: This quantitative study to examine student's perceptions on the effect of social networks on their academic performance in the Province of Masvingo focusing on Zivezano high school students. A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was used and standard questionnaires were used to collect the data. A sample of 51 students were purposively sampled. Data analysis was done using SPSS IBM Version 21). Research findings showed that a great number of Zivezano high students were frequently using WhatsApp as compared to other social sites and there was no effect to their academic performance.
